At Man of Steel, every tray, canopy and electrical setup is fully custom - no templates, no shortcuts, and no compromise. From day one, we set out to offer something this industry said couldn’t be done: true one-off builds, tailored to each customer, designed and built by the same hands. We were told by some of the biggest names in the game that custom fabrication doesn’t scale - that it wouldn’t last. But 10 years later, we’re still here, and we’re only getting better.

We’re more than just fabricators - we’re skilled problem-solvers and passionate 4WD enthusiasts who live and breathe the lifestyle we build for. We understand what matters on the tracks and off-grid because we’ve lived it ourselves. That experience flows into everything we do, from the way we design for practicality to the pride we take in every weld, wire, and panel. We don’t just build to spec - we work closely with each person to design something entirely their own. That kind of personal experience, and that level of detail, is what sets us apart. And that’s what makes our builds truly one of one.

Our Story

Man of Steel Fabrication was born out of necessity and a passion for adventure. In 2015, Mark, a seasoned sheet metal fabricator with over 25 years of experience, found himself searching for the perfect tray for his Nissan Patrol. Frustrated by the lack of options that truly met his needs, and finding no one willing to build exactly what he envisioned, Mark decided to take matters into his own hands.

What began as a personal project quickly grew into something much bigger. Mark’s commitment to quality, attention to detail, and genuine care for people’s individual needs set Man of Steel apart from day one. He saw an industry that too often overlooked the customer’s vision and set out to change that, building a business grounded in personalised service, expert craftsmanship, and a deep love for off-road touring and adventure.

By 2017, as the builds became more advanced, Mark hit a wall - not with fabrication, but with finding someone capable of wiring the complex setups he was creating. Time and time again, auto electricians turned him away. Some would only handle basic rear lights, while others simply didn’t have the skill or confidence to take on anything more involved.

Then Mark met Adrian, an auto electrician who not only understood the vision but said, without hesitation, “Yeah, I can do that.” It was a turning point. Finally, someone who could match the same level of care, quality, and capability on the electrical side. Since that moment, the partnership has grown into a tight-knit, aligned team - both sharing the same mindset, passion for touring, and drive to do things properly.

Today, Man of Steel Fabrication stands as a testament to that vision - a company dedicated to crafting custom builds that not only meet, but exceed, the expectations of every customer.

Everything we build is Australian made, right here in our workshop, using quality materials and proven processes. No imports, no flat-packs - just hard-earned craftsmanship built for the harshest conditions.

    DIRECTOR / FABRICATOR

    With over 25 years of experience in the fabrication industry, Mark started Man of Steel Fabrication in 2015 with a simple goal: to build trays and canopies that set the benchmark for quality. What began as a one-man workshop has grown into a trusted name across the 4x4 and trade community. Thanks to Mark’s hands-on approach, attention to detail, and commitment to getting things right. He’s driven by the pride of creating something that not only looks great, but performs where it matters most.

    AUTO ELECTRICIAN / MARKETING MANAGER

    Adrian brings over 10 years of experience in the auto electrical trade and has been a key part of our team since 2018 through his business, All Tech Auto Electrical. He shares our commitment to delivering the highest quality workmanship on every build. Whether it’s integrating complex electrical systems or fine-tuning the details behind the scenes, Adrian ensures every setup meets the same standard of excellence we apply to our fabrication work.

    FABRICATOR / OFF-ROAD ENTHUSIAST

    Oliver is our third-year apprentice with a strong passion for off-road touring and everything hands-on. He brings real enthusiasm to the workshop, always keen to learn and refine his skills in fabrication. Whether he’s on the tools or talking rigs, Oliver’s commitment to the trade and love for the off-road lifestyle make him a perfect fit for the Man of Steel team.
